Editorial Standards
These are the rules Big Rig Daily follows for every story, guide and tool on this site.
Sourcing
- Every fact in a story comes from a published source, such as a government agency, a court record, a company statement or another news outlet.
- Every story lists its sources at the bottom, with links, so you can check them yourself.
- Laws and rules are quoted or summarized from the official text where we can open it. When we could not confirm a rule from official text, the page says so.
- Proposals are labeled as proposals, arrests are labeled as arrests, and company claims are labeled as claims.
- Crash and accident news is reported factually and respectfully, with no graphic details and no guessing about fault.
Bylines
Stories signed Big Rig Daily Staff are written and edited by the Big Rig Daily team. Guides are general information, not legal, tax, medical or financial advice.
How stories are checked
Every story and guide on Big Rig Daily goes through the same steps before it is published.
- Primary sources first. Facts come from the original source wherever it can be opened: government agencies, statutes and regulations, court records and official releases. Reports from other news outlets may also be cited, and they are listed with the other sources.
- Independent verification before writing. Before a story or guide is written, a separate research pass checks each fact, number, date and quote against its source and records where it was found. The story is written only from facts that pass that check. Anything that cannot be confirmed is cut, or the page says it could not be confirmed.
- SEO and editorial review before publishing. Each draft is reviewed for search and readability, then gets an editorial review and approval before it goes live.
- Sources on the page. Every story and guide lists its sources at the bottom, with links, so readers can check them.
AI tools help with research and drafting. Every story and guide is checked and edited before it is published.
Corrections
If a fact is wrong, the article is corrected and a dated note is added in italics at the end of the article, saying what changed. For example:
Correction, Oct. 25, 2026: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong exit number. It is Exit 112.
To report an error, email [email protected] with the article link and what needs fixing.
Tools and data
Calculators, the truck laws page, the truck stop map and the company directory name their data sources on the page, with the date the data was checked. Calculators run in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us.
The towing and repair finder lists businesses from OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps open data. Big Rig Daily does not check, rate or endorse any business, and no listing is paid.
Images
Most story images on Big Rig Daily are illustrations made with AI image tools. They are not photos of the real people, trucks or places in a story. Each one is labeled under the image as an illustration, not a photo of a specific location. When we use a real photo, it is credited to its source.
