Corrections Policy and Corrections Log
Big Rig Daily wants every story, guide and tool to be accurate for the truckers, owner-operators and trucking families who rely on it. When we get something wrong, we fix it, say so on the article and list the fix on this page.
How to report an error
Email corrections@bigrigdaily.com with:
- The link to the article, guide or tool page
- What you believe is wrong
- A link or document that shows the correct information, if you have one
Every report is read.
How corrections are reviewed
- Checked against the source. The report is checked against the original sources for the story, such as the agency, court record, official release or news outlet it came from, and against any source the reader sent.
- Editorial review. If the error is confirmed, the fix is written and gets an editorial review before it goes live, the same as any story.
- No silent changes to facts. A fact is never changed without a note on the article saying what changed.
- When a report is not confirmed. If the sources still support the story as published, the story stays as it is. If the facts are unclear, the story is updated to say what could not be confirmed.
How corrections are noted
When a fact is wrong, the article is corrected and a dated note is added in italics at the end of the article, saying what changed. For example:
Correction, Oct. 25, 2026: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong exit number. It is Exit 112.
The correction is also added to the log at the bottom of this page.
Corrections and updates are different
- A correction fixes something that was wrong when it was published, such as a wrong number, date, name of an agency or location. Corrections are always noted on the article and listed in the log below.
- An update adds new information to a story that was right when it was published, such as a road reopening, a new official statement or a court ruling. Updates are marked on the article with the time of the update, for example "Update, 7:30 a.m. PT." Updates are not listed in the corrections log.
- Small fixes to spelling, grammar or formatting that do not change the meaning of a story are made without a note.
Corrections log
Newest corrections are listed first, with the date, the article and what changed.
- Oct. 27, 2026: Police Charge a Truck Driver After a Deadly Seven-Vehicle I-81 Crash in Cumberland County, Pa. An earlier version of this story said the charged driver was driving a car. He was driving a tractor-trailer.
